How do I become a member?

All the information pertaining to membership cost and where they can be purchased can be found on our Memberships page.

Can I use the range without becoming a member?

Yes, but only if accompanied by a current member in good standing. A $5 per day Guest Fee also applies to each guest. Access to the range is controlled by an electronic gate. Only members have key cards. The member must supervise their guests at all times and ensure they pay applicable Guest Fees. Members are responsible for the conduct of their guests. Guests may not bring other guests.

What are the range hours?

The range is open to members during daylight hours, seven days a week, weather permitting. Specific hours are posted at the range entrance and on the club bulletin board. Ranges may be closed for scheduled matches or maintenance.

Is eye and ear protection required?

Yes. Eye and ear protection are mandatory for all persons on or near the firing line. This includes spectators. The club does not provide loaner equipment, so please bring your own.

Can I bring my children to the range?

Children (under 18) are welcome with a parent or guardian who is a current member. All underage shooters must comply with all range rules and must be supervised by an adult member at all times.

Where is the range located?

See our Directions page for the range address and detailed driving directions.

How do I contact club officers?

Use the Contact page to send a message to club officers. You can also attend any general membership meeting, held on the third Thursday of each month at 7:00 PM (except December).

What happens if I violate range rules?

Range rule violations may result in a warning, suspension of range privileges, or permanent revocation of membership, depending on the severity of the violation. Safety violations are taken very seriously.

What are your hours of operation?

The range is open to members during daylight hours, seven days a week, weather permitting. Night shooting is prohibited unless approved specifically by the Board of Directors as part of a sanctioned event. The range may be closed for scheduled matches or maintenance.

I have lost my key card. How do I get a replacement?

Members who lose, misplace, or have their card stolen should notify the GCSSA by one of three methods:

  • Email gatecityssa@gmail.com
  • Attend a GCSSA meeting on the third Thursday of the month at 7:00 pm
  • Send a letter by U.S. Mail to: GCSSA, P.O. Box 4862, Pocatello, ID 83205

Notification should explain the circumstances of the loss, and include the member name and key card number. Lost, stolen, or misplaced key cards may be replaced at the discretion of the Board of Directors for a fee that is equal to one-half the current annual membership rate. If the Board agrees to replace the key card, instructions for submittal of the replacement fee will be sent to the member, or payment will be expected at the Board meeting attended. The old key card will be deactivated.

Can I reserve a bay?

Shooting bays are on a first-come, first-served basis and cannot be reserved by members. Bays may be reserved only for shooting events that have been approved by the Board. Board approved events will be placed on the GCSSA event calendar. Most calendared events are scheduled at the annual scheduling meeting that takes place each February. During this meeting, scheduling of events can be requested. Shooting disciplines that have been officially recognized by the Board have first priority.
